TEENAGE BEHAVIOR

-Jonathan E. Guadalupe-

Adolescent period is said to be the most unforgettable part of most of the people’s lives. During this time that significant charges in a human being took place. This is the transition from childhood to adulthood that brings so many exciting experiences in a teenager.

But despite the considerations that this is a milestone on a person’s life, most teenagers experience and display certain behaviors which are not acceptable to their parent’s of even the society. This made them the most misunderstood and questioned age bracket. Most of the concerns for teens are their friends, parents, peers, independence and their future. These simple pieces may later on lead to problems such as drug addiction, alcoholism, going to wrong peers, teenage pregnancy and social pressures that affect the way they mature and behave.

The problem of a teenager starts when he or she experiences Identity Crisis. Because they are entering adulthood, they are trying to determine who and what would they be in the future. This results to being more self-conscious, hence; to give solution to the problem, they just try to blend with the society. Being conscious about their personality, most teenagers try to imitate their peers, even wrong peers. For them, they have to be bad just to be considered cool or “astig” by their “barkadas”. This time, friends became the focus of attention because peers give solution to their problems. Being with friends allows them to be simple and express who they are without pretending to be an intelligent or a mature person.

As these scenario goes on, here now comes the parents to correct and control their behavior. They are often scolded and commanded of what to do. They are living into a remote island with the rules of Do’s and Don’ts. But as what I have said, another big thing for teens is their quest for independence. They want to prove that they can stand on their feet alone and what they do is right no matter what it is. Parents, on the other side, became so much authoritarian that they somewhat give their child the feeling of being choked. Here now come the problems of rebellion.
Teens try to ignore their parents and follow their peers. At this point in time, more behavior arises. What is bad is good. It makes no difference. Moral values are nothing compared with the values of the majority. “Since most of my friends are drinking, then, I must drink too”. Innocent boys and girls before are now quite adults flirting in the bar. Immature relationship may occur and even cause teenage pregnancy. As these problems occur, together with the conflict with the parents may cause the teenagers to indulge into anti-depressants such as drugs and alcohol. These things are the remedy for their anxiety and depression. Being deeply wounded is the only thing that will make them back.

But this is the worst scenario in a teenage life. This could still be prevented with proper guidance from the older people. Parents must not be too much dictatorial to their children. They have to understand that thy have their own private life too and own goal and plans. On the other hand, they must not be too permissive for this will give their children the feeling of being unloved and alone. The right thing is to have balance and the key is proper communication. Parents should not be the best parent to their child but a best friend. They must be updated with the problems of their children wherein they would be the one who won’t judge and correct mistakes but the one who will guide, advice and explain options and consequences. This will give the teens, a chance of having independence on what path to choose. In the end, teens must always remember that with or without their parents, they are the one who is responsible to whatever they may be in the future.

Cosmetics vs Natural Beauty

Talking about beauty of a person is an interesting topic to everyone especially for the girls. The comparison and argumentation between cosmetics and natural beauty are expected to be the main topic. The advantages and disadvantages of each side to everyone are also included. As a person which among the two will you choose? Cosmetics or natural beauty?

Looking at the part of the girls, there are different opinions and wants about their beauty. Some girls would say that it is better to see a person using make-up just to be more presentable and attractive. While some girls would say that that it is better to see a person whose beauty is natural and for them being simple is being beautiful. And looking at the part of the boys, expect that most of them would choose the one using the cosmetics.Because for them it is nice to see a person that give more care in their beauty. While for some boys they more appreciate a person whose beauty is natural because they see the real beauty of a person. There's nothing wrong in using cosmetics and not using it.Knowing how to apply make-up make you become presentable especially in attending occasions and in applying job and many more. But knowing also the bad effects of this is important. Some skin are sensitive that sometimes lead to irritation and allergy, and it makes our skin looks old and pale i we don't have make-up.Having natural beauty lessen the bad effects get from cosmetics bu tin some circumstances there is a need that natural beauty do not effect like in applying job.The businesses choose the one whose more presentable and suit to the position.Because in working we need to be always presentable.

Both are not bad but sometimes we need to be more presentable and sometimes natural depend upon the circumstances.

Teenage Behaviors

Adolescent stage is a stage from childhood to teenage. When an individual transform to this stage there were several changes that can be observe like in physical, mental, emotional, spiritual and also in their behavioral aspects.
According to some survey, nowadays there were more teenage engage in taking cigarettes and drinking alcoholic beverages at the ages of fourteen to fifteen years old. And it says that usually it is the male teenage do this kind of activities. Some teenagers doing this activities of smoking and drinking alcoholic beverages for the purpose of or to become in, in their group. And some teenagers make this as an recreational activities instead of playing basketball or swimming in the beach.
Because of high rate of out of school youth, there were more teenager married at early age of time. This kind of teenage behaviors that mentioned above are the major problem in the society, especially to those families or relatives of the teenagers facing at the wrong way of standard of living.
There were reason why teenagers doing this kind of behaviors. One of this is lack of attention of their family members especially their parents. For example when the parents are too much busy with their business affairs they have no longer time for their children. Another one is lack of knowledge, because they are out of school youth they have no enough knowledge what is the effect of taking cigarettes and drinking alcoholic beverages, and also for those teenagers married at early of age they have no stock knowledge what will be the effect in the future and what is the right time for that.
Lastly some teenagers reasoned out that they are only curious for something, that why as of now teenagers are more curious in everything they seen in their environment.

Topic On Telling Lies : By Rosalie Camille P. Lagrosa

"No matter how long we keep lies to others, still the truth will come out. Truth will still prevail in the end." But why do we still lie?

No one will say that he has never lied. No one will insist that he's being honest all this time. Even I, i already lied. We have encountered situations in our lives wherein we rather choose to lie rather than to tall the truth. But why? Each of us has our own reasons. We lie maybe because we don't want to hurt the feelings of other people especially our loved ones. Some believes it will be best to just keep quiet. But others do such to deceive as a form of trick and test how they will react.

There are a lot of circumstances that all of us can relate in which we experienced lying. It maybe at home, in school, in our community. It maybe lies to our family, friends, neighbors, teachers or loved ones. It maybe small or big lies. All of us already committed fibs on certain instances, intended or not.

For example, at home, if parents have financial difficulties paying expenses and other needs, they will rather talk with each other the problem than let their children know it. They will make them believe that everything is fine even if they don't have enough income for their children's needs especially in school. Children too in some cases, if they have problems at school, if they got low grades in their exams, they will just keep it to themselves and say they're okay because they don't want their parents to get disappointed.

At school, for precedent, if a student committed mistake like if a teacher asked him to bring a letter to a certain person, even if he hasn't given yet the letter will say that he has already. Teachers also do lie in some cases to their students or co-teachers.

Same with our friends, for instance, if we really can't come out with them, we will say that we have something to do even if there's none. If they are asking if they look good in their outfit, we say yes even if they're not. Are these real friends we can call? Because if they are, they will criticize us to be at our best not praise us to be at our worst.

Nowadays, especially with couples or lovers, lies do exist. Telling falsehoods became a cause of some break-ups and separations among these people. There's a saying among lovers stating, "It is better to tell the truth to make someone cry than to tell a lie to make someone smile". Isn't it true? But most still violate this saying. Some still follow the other way around.

In our lives, even if we say we cannot do a lie, we still do. It's normal. For some conditions, it's uncontrollable because we may have reasons why we need to do it. But intentionally or not, unknowingly, we became untrustworthy with our words and hurt others' sentiments. What if they do the same to us? Doesn't it also hurts? As long as we can't, we must avoid lying. It's ungodly.

We must hold in minds, in the end, it will still be authenticity that will succeed. That we can never hide from the reality, from what is true. Because no matter how many times we lie and how long we keep them to ourselves, truth will rule at the right time with relative consequences to rectify our wrongdoings, unmask us from hidden lies and save us from hurting and being hurt, too.

Remember: There's no good with lying...

Teenage Behavior

They said that the behavior of the teenager today is different from the behavior before. Their attitudes, behaviors, personality are different. Each of them shows different personalities. As the years pass there are a lot of changes in their behaviors. They said that the attitude of a teenager before is better than today.
Today, there are things that a teenager before can't do what the teenager today do. Almost half of the population of the teenager can have their decision by their own. Some of them are dependent on their parents. before, they said that a teenager just follow what their parents wants for them. Teenagers have their own gadgets, they can have whatever they want to have. They can have the latest gadget. They ask money from their parents for a particular thing that they wanted to have. Most of the time they are with their friends, rather than with their family. They spend more time hanging-out with their friends. In comparing from the teenager before, they spend much of their time at home especially the girls.
Whatever kind of behavior thus a teenager have, its just a reflection of their personality. Its just their way to express what they fell and what they want to know by other people.

Reality

Teenagers composed the biggest portion of our population right now. They are the hope of the nation according to Dr. Jose Rizal. They are one of the factors that will contribute to the betterment of our nation as they say but it is really true? Are the teenagers today capable of influencing the new batch of teenagers toward the right path? Can they really make it?

Teenagers, nowadays, are far different from each other. Some teenagers are attending school while others are at home taking care of their siblings or their child. There are some that works while studying and some that stopped and just work for their family. There are also some teenagers that are bystanders but there are also some that are diligent and focus in their studies.

Being quite different from others, those teenagers who are attending school are the best role model for teenagers. They are to be followed for they are in the right path. Once those teenagers finish their studies, it is more likely that they will work, for example in the banks, law firms, accounting firms, airlines, real estate or in any other large companies in the country. A better future awaits them but not necessarily to all the students because some teenagers who are studying just go with the flow and work easy-go-lucky. They just don't bother quizzes, assignments and even examinations. They just let the luck come their way because they don't study hard and give certain effort to pass. Once those students overcome these bad habits like laziness, easy-go-lucky habit and tardiness, they will truly reach goals and aspirations. Moreover, they will surely be an asset for Philippines. They will definitely be good leaders in the future and role models for the future generation.

Teenagers are still the hope of the nation. They are still one of the factors that will contribute to the betterment of our country if ever they continue to work harder, exert more efforts and inspire others. They are role models on their own right and also in the eyes of the children who look up to them. This simply means that they can help the new batch of teenagers to realize their dreams too by leading them to the right path. They can really make it.

Teenage Behavior

A persons behavior varies because of their generation, peers and surroundings. Now a days, teenagers has different trends when it comes to fashion, genres in music and personalities. Media affects the youth a lot, it molds their personality because of what they are watching in a television. It influence the viewers when it comes to morality because whatever they watch on the television they might copy it in reality.
Family has a big role in molding the personality of a person. The behavior of a youth reflects from what family and a home they have. How their parents showed the love and care for their children. And how they disciplined them.

Teenage Behavior

Being a teenager is one of the greatest moment in life. It has a lot of happiness and fun, but need a limitation on it. It is the stage of character being molded for the near future. Their values in this stage would be a reflection on them.

But what i have observed base on others tell me and based on my experience is that there is a great difference between teenagers back them and teenagers today. Back then, teenagers are easily contented on shallow things. They have much fear on their elders. They listen to what others would tell them especially their parents. Nowadays, teenagers become the complete opposite of what they are before. They want to experience everything. Whether it be for their own good or may lead them to disaster. They tend to listen to their friends than to their parents. They are easily distracted to what they should do. Being a teenager today isn't that easy especially when you lack self-control. You will be prone to danger.

One of the main aspects that leads teenagers to have such extreme behavior is "curiosity". Out of it, teenagers tend to try everything even if it alone can cause them their own lives.

To sum this all up, i must say that almost all teenagers experience peer pressure. We just have to deal with it in a proper manner.

TYPHOON

Typhoon is a tropical storm of cyclonic force and peculiar violence and the primary energy source for tropical cyclones is the latent heat released when water condenses. Only extremely moisture air can supply the energy necessary to spawn ad maintain tropical storms and only very warm air contains enough moisture.
The cause of typhoon is one of the responsible for much of the storm damage. The waves and tides generated by the wind often of cause consider able damage is coastal areas and the effect of typhoon we get a much loss of life and property.
This generation typhoon is one of the dangerous climate that we give a disaster to every country and typhoon this is a start of simple of simple low pressure and the goes to be a tropical storm at this time we make secure yourself and always needed to being safe.

Teenager Behaviors

Seeing and knowing the behaviors of a teenager nowadays is very unexplainable. Knowing that teenager nowadays had their own way of expressing and showing their behaviors.
We all know that nowadays teenager has a new trend compared before. They are more curious and they are more likely to explore. They try everything without knowing the consequences that may come. Sometimes they act as if they know everything and they can handle everything. Teenagers are emotionally affected specially in the word "love". That's why because of their emotion they lead to the wrong way, rather than to the good future that they expect.
Teenagers are aggressive specially when their is influences around them. "Friends" is one of the factor that influence teenagers behavior, most specially when it comes to studying, thats why common for this time the habit of instead of attending the class, they hang out and go with their friends. They are stubborn or hardheaded in times that their parents advice and get involve with their business.
Teenagers is the happiest stage that we encountered. They need guidance for them to seek the right way. They are in the "hot seat" where all possible mistakes may happen, that's why parents and adults presence is very important to mold their young mind into the fully one.

TEENAGE BEHAVIORS

Teenage behaviors of this generation was very different than before. Before, teenagers was a good follower to the elders and they do respect their parents when it comes to their character as a teens. But that's all i could say because i don't have that such very broad idea of what kind of teenage behavior they had before than the behavior of the teens as of today's generation.
They always said that the youth is the key to the success of our nation, but base on the things that i am seeing as of these days, there must be something that must be improved first so we can make our nation improve.
I could barely say that i am proud of some of the youths now, because they know now how to communicate and cooperate or come up of the situation we are facing now and they now join to the campaign of many people that is also useful to us as an additional knowledge to all of us. We should also be thankful to the modern technologies that was a lack before of the teenagers. Because it could help more to join or know more about what's happening to our nation and they can also make some sense of it.
There is also a good and bad effect of the things around us. It can be useful or harmful, but it depends on you on how you will use or do it properly.

Graphic Organizers

Graphic organizers (some of which are also called concept maps, entity relationship charts, and mind maps) are a pictorial way of constructing knowledge and organizing information. They help the student convert and compress a lot of seemingly disjointed information into a structured, simple-to-read, graphic display. The resulting visual display conveys complex information in a simple-to-understand manner.

Increasing Understanding by Creating Graphic Organizers:
The process of converting a mass of data/information/ideas into a graphic map gives the student an increased understanding and insight into the topic at hand. To create the map, the student must concentrate on the relationships between the items and examine the meanings attached to each of them. While creating a map, the student must also prioritize the information, determining which parts of the material are the most important and should be focused upon, and where each item should be placed in the map.

The creation of graphic organizers also helps the student generate ideas as they develop and note their thoughts visually. The possibilities associated with a topic become clearer as the student's ideas are classified visually.

Uses of Graphic Organizers:
Graphic organizers can be used to structure writing projects, to help in problem solving, decision making, studying, planning research and brainstorming.

Creating Graphic Organizers:

Graphic organizers can be drawn free-hand or printed. To go to printouts of many graphic organizers, click on one of the links above or below.

Adding color-coding and/or pictures to a graphic organizer further increases the utility and readability of the visual display.

How to Choose a Graphic Organizer for Your Topic/Task (click on a graphic organizer below to go to printable worksheets):

The task at hand determines the type of graphic organizer that is appropriate. The following is a list of common graphic organizers - choose the format that best fits your topic.

starStar: If the topic involves investigating attributes associated with a single topic, use a star diagram as your graphic organizer. Example: Finding methods that help your study skills (like taking notes, reading, doing homework, memorizing, etc.).

spiderSpider: If the topic involves investigating attributes associated with a single topic, and then obtaining more details on each of these ideas, use a spider diagram as your graphic organizer. This is like the star graphic organizer with one more level of detail. Example: Finding methods that help your study skills (like taking notes, reading, memorizing, etc.), and investigating the factors involved in performing each of the methods.

fishboneFishbone: If the topic involves investigating multiple cause-and-effect factors associated with a complex topic and how they inter-relate, use a fishbone diagram as your graphic organizer. Example: Examining the effects of improved farming methods.

Cloud diagramCloud/Cluster: If the topic involves generating a web of ideas based on a stimulus topic, use a clustering diagram as your graphic organizer. Example: brainstorming.

Tree diagramTree: If the topic involves a chain of events with a beginning and with multiple outcomes at each node (like a family tree), use a tree as your graphic organizer. Example: Displaying the probabilistic results of tossing coins.

Time sequenceChain of Events: If the topic involves a linear chain of events, with a definite beginning, middle, and end, use a chain of events graphic organizer. Example: Analyzing the plot of a story.

timelineContinuum/Timeline: If the topic has definite beginning and ending points, and a number of divisions or sequences in between, use a continuum/timeline. Example: Displaying milestones in a person's life.

ClockClock: If the topic involves a clock-like cycle, use a clock graphic organizer. Example topic: Recording the events in a typical school day or making a story clock to summarize a story.

CycleCycle of Events: If the topic involves a recurring cycle of events, with no beginning and no end, use a cyclic graphic organizer. Example topic: Documenting the stages in the lifecycle of an animal.

FlowchartFlowchart: If the topic involves a chain of instructions to follow, with a beginning and multiple possible outcomes at some node, with rules at some nodes, use a flowchart. Example: Computer programmers sometimes use flowcharts to organize the algorithm before writing a program.

VennVenn Diagram: If the task involves examining the similarities and differences between two or three items, use a Venn diagram. Example: Examining the similarities and differences between fish and whales, or comparing a book and the accompanying movie.

ChartChart/Matrix Diagram: If the task involves condensing and organizing data about traits of many items, use a chart/matrix. Example: Creating a display of key inventions, who invented them, when, where and why they were invented, etc.

y-chartY-Chart Diagram: If the task involves analyzing and organizing with respect to three qualities, use a Y-Chart. Example: Fill out a Y-Chart to describe what you know about an animal, including what it looks like, what it sounds like, and what it feels like. Or describe a character in a book, including what the charater looks like, sounds like, and how the charater feels.

t-chartT-Chart Diagram: If the task involves analyzing or comparing with two aspects of the topic, use a T-Chart. Example: Fill out a T-Chart to evaluate the pros and cons associated with a decision.

fact/opinionFact/Opinion: If the task involves distinguishing the facts vs. the opinions in a theme or text, use fact/opinion charts. Example: Fill out a fact/opinion chart to evaluate the facts and opinions presented in a news article.

PMI chartPMI Diagram: If the task involves analyzing the plusses, minuses, and implicatios of a decision or an action, use a PMI Chart. Example: Fill out a PMI Chart to help evaluate the positive, negative and interesting points associated with taking a new job.

Decision MakingDecision Making Diagrams: If the task is making a decision, use a graphic organizer to enumerate possible alternatives and the pros and cons of each. Example: Fill out a desicion making diagram to help decide which elective courses you'd like to take next quarter.

Semantic Feature AnalysisSemantic Feature Analysis Charts: If the task is comparing characteristics among a group of items, use Semantic Feature Analysis . Example: Fill out a Semantic Feature Analysis chart to compare and contrast the care needed for various pets.

Cause and EffectCause and Effect Diagrams: If the task is examining possible causes and effects in a process, use a cause and effect graphic organizer . Example: Fill out a cause-and-effect diagram to trace the steps in a feedback loop..

KWHLKWHL Diagram: If the task involves analyzing and organizing what you know and what you want to learn about a topic, use a KWHL chart. K stands for what you already KNOW about the subject. W stands for what you WANT to learn. H stands for figuring out HOW you can learn more about the topic. L stands for what you LEARN as you read. Example: Fill out a KWHL chart before, during, and after you read about a topic.

KWHLPie Charts: If the task involves showing divisions with a group, use a pie chart. Example: Draw a pie chart to show what percentages of a population have blue eyes, green eyes, or brown eyes.
